Brief introduction - Role Summary/Purpose :

The Area Leader - ER & Welfare serves as the primary advocate for employee well-being and the guardian of organizational compliance. This role acts as a "one-stop-shop" for all welfare, benefits, and ER queries, ensuring a seamless experience for both internal and external stakeholders. The purpose of this position is to foster a high-morale workplace through proactive counseling, streamline adm1inistrative operations, and maintain robust relationships with government regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Welfare & Counseling
  • Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the central resource for staff regarding HR recruitment, welfare queries, and benefits, ensuring a "one-stop-shop" experience for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive Counseling: Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions to address workplace issues, explain company policies, and maintain high levels of employee morale and discipline.
  • Advocacy & Guidance: Educate employees on their rights, privileges, and employment terms; provide expert guidance on accessing corporate facilities such as medical services, housing, education, and legal assistance.
  • Compliance & Policy Management
  • Compliance Framework: Develop, initiate, and maintain policies for the Compliance Program to mitigate risks related to illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Standards of Conduct: Lead periodic reviews of the Code of Conduct to ensure alignment with current labor laws, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Audit Readiness: Coordinate and cooperate with internal and external audits/inspections to ensure the highest standards of service delivery and regulatory adherence.
  • Operational Support & Administration
  • Process Optimization: Plan and coordinate administrative systems, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve organizational efficiency.
  • Budgetary Oversight: Manage the recruitment and administrative budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and financial accountability.
  • Vendor & Facility Liaison: Collaborate with the Group ER Manager and local services (Security, Housekeeping, Canteen) to ensure facility standards meet employee needs.
  • Time office and Payroll : Oversee Time Office activities, man power strategy execution and managing end to end payroll process.
  • Data Management & Reporting
  • Strategic Reporting: Maintain comprehensive data records, logs, and registers for all counseling activities and compliance issues.
  • Analytical Insight: Submit detailed periodic reports to the HR & Admin Manager, providing data-driven insights to support group-wide HR initiatives.
  • Strategic Government Liaisoning
  • Regulatory Representation: Serve as the primary point of contact and authorized representative for the company with labor offices, social security departments (PF/ESI), and other local or national regulatory bodies.
  • Compliance Advocacy: Proactively engage with government officials to clarify new labor laws, industrial relations policies, and welfare mandates to ensure the company stays ahead of shifting regulations.

Required Qualifications :

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and Msw, MHRM and PMIR or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Law, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, or as a Welfare Officer in a manufacturing or large-scale industrial setting.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Deep understanding of Indian Labor Laws, Factories Act, and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, etc.), labour codes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data management, strategic reporting, and budget tracking.
  • Certification: Ratification certificate of Welfare Officer is an added advantage.
