Product Owner - Lending Management System

We are entering an exciting phase of transformation — building a proprietary, full-lifecycle Lending Management System (LMS) from the ground up, with AI at the center of every decision. This is a high-impact, high-visibility program that will define how we operate for the next decade.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, opinionated Product Owner to lead the product vision and execution of our next-generation LMS. This is not a feature-maintenance role — it is a transformational mandate. You will own the product roadmap end-to-end across origination, underwriting, servicing, collections, and reporting, driving automation and intelligence into every stage of the lending lifecycle.

You will work directly with engineering teams, data scientists, and senior executives — and you will be expected to push back with authority when proposed features conflict with product integrity, user experience, or strategic priorities.

What You’ll Do

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Own the full product roadmap for the LMS, from discovery through delivery and iteration
• Define the AI-first product vision across all phases: planning, design, development, testing, DevOps, monitoring, triage, and support
• Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
• Prioritize ruthlessly — balancing strategic value, engineering effort, and business risk

Stakeholder Leadership

• Partner with executives, operations, compliance, sales, and finance to align on priorities and outcomes
• Facilitate cross-functional design decisions with confidence and clarity
• Proactively challenge feature requests from leadership when they are not aligned with product goals or user needs — and make the case for a better path
• Communicate roadmap status, risks, and decisions clearly to all levels of the organization

Engineering Partnership

• Serve as the day-to-day product partner to engineering teams — participating in sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives

• Ensure engineers have clear requirements, fast answers, and appropriate context to build effectively
• Balance speed with quality; advocate for the right technical decisions even when they slow things down
• Understand and embrace that the engineering team will leverage AI across all phases of development — including planning, coding, testing, DevOps, monitoring, triage, and support — and shape product requirements accordingly

AI & Automation Leadership

• Champion AI-first approaches across the LMS: intelligent underwriting decisioning, automated document processing, predictive risk modeling, AI-assisted QA, and beyond
• Stay current on AI tooling, LLM capabilities, and automation frameworks; bring relevant innovations into the product process
• Work with data and Risk teams to define requirements for AI/Risk models embedded in the lending workflow

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

• 5+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager of a lending platform — you must understand the mechanics of the lending lifecycle deeply
• Proven track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder technology programs in a fintech or financial services environment
• Direct, hands-on experience working embedded with software engineering teams
• Demonstrated ability to respectfully challenge executive direction when experience and data point toward a better path forward
• Familiarity with AI/Risk tools, LLMs, and intelligent automation in a product context

Bonus Points

• Experience building or scaling a loan origination system (LOS), loan management system (LMS), or similar core lending infrastructure
