Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) on behalf of our client in Mississippi. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Software AG technologies, particularly ADABAS and Natural, supporting enterprise systems in complex mainframe and Linux environments. This role involves database administration, system analysis, performance optimization, and collaboration with development teams to support mission-critical applications and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain ADABAS databases and related Software AG tools to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Analyze business and technical requirements to design and implement effective database and system solutions
- Support development teams working with Natural, Natural One, and legacy mainframe applications
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and implementation to maintain system stability and efficiency
- Manage and support environments utilizing MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM files, Linux/zLinux, and UNIX
- Assist in database replication, integration, and data management processes
- Provide recommendations on system architecture and best practices
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system policies
- Support compliance and implementation of state and federal program requirements related to eligibility and assistance systems

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working with Software AG technologies, including ADABAS, Natural, Natural One, Predict, Construct, and related tools
- Extensive experience with ADABAS database administration and support
- Strong experience with mainframe environments, including MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, and VSAM
- Experience working with Linux/zLinux and UNIX systems
- Knowledge of relational database systems and integration tools
- Experience with system analysis, design, testing, implementation, and quality assurance within enterprise information systems
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures
