Senior Database Administrator (ADABAS)
Remote (U.S. Based)
2-Year Contract
We’re partnering with a leading organization seeking a Senior ADABAS Database Administrator to support critical systems, including MACWIS and other enterprise applications. This is a long-term contract opportunity working within a highly stable, mission-driven environment.
You’ll collaborate with a team of experienced ADABAS administrators, playing a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support ADABAS databases in enterprise environments
- Collaborate on the maintenance of MACWIS and related systems
- Analyze user requirements and translate into system design and enhancements
- Perform testing, implementation, and quality assurance across systems
- Support and optimize legacy environments (mainframe + distributed systems)
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and documentation
- Ensure compliance with state and federal system requirements

Required Experience
- 10+ years working with Software AG stack, including:
- ADABAS, Natural, NaturalOne, Predict, Construct
- ADABAS Replication, EntireX, CONNX, ApplinX, Natural AJAX
- Strong experience across:
- MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM
- Linux / UNIX / zLinux
- Informix
- Experience across full SDLC lifecycle
- Proven background in system testing, QA, and implementation
- Experience advising on architecture and maintaining technical documentation
Domain Experience (Highly Preferred)
- Knowledge of SNAP, TANF, child welfare systems, or eligibility systems
- Experience working with state/federal mandates and regulated environments
