Automation-first Java SDET (Selenium)

Job Summary

We are seeking a collaborative, automation-first SDET (Java) to join Agile delivery teams and drive a modern, risk-based QA strategy. This role goes beyond traditional testing—you will design and build automation frameworks, contribute to QA best practices, and help advance overall testing maturity across the organization.

You will work closely with developers, product teams, and QA peers in a fast-paced Agile environment, ensuring high-quality delivery across application, service, and data layers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium
• Build and execute API/service layer tests (e.g., Postman or similar tools)
• Perform end-to-end testing across application, service, and data layers
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines within cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS)

• Collaborate within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe) in 2-week sprint cycles
• Contribute to risk-based and feature-layered testing strategies
• Support test data management, including synthetic data generation
• Partner with engineering teams to improve code quality, test coverage, and release confidence
• Mentor team members and promote QA best practices and standards
• Track and manage testing efforts using tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira

Required Qualifications

• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in automated QA / SDET roles
• Strong programming experience in Java
• Proven experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber)
• Experience testing APIs/service layer and distributed systems
• Experience working in cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing data layer / database validation (SQL)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control (e.g., GitHub)
• Exposure to Cypress or modern test frameworks
• Experience with AI-driven testing or intelligent automation agents
• ISTQB, IIST, or equivalent QA certification
