Job Description

About The Company

New Healthcare Finance Organization is a forward-thinking, private equity-backed healthcare enterprise committed to enhancing community health outcomes through innovative financial solutions. Our organization specializes in providing comprehensive support services that facilitate access to quality healthcare, particularly for underserved populations. With a focus on patient advocacy and health insurance enrollment, we aim to bridge gaps in healthcare coverage and ensure that individuals receive the necessary medical attention without financial barriers. Our team is dedicated to fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment that values diversity and professional development.

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Medicaid Enrollment Specialist to join our dynamic team and work closely with our partner hospital in Upper Manhattan. The primary responsibility of this role is to enroll eligible hospital patients into the Third Party Health Insurance Premium Payment Program (HIPP). This program assists high-cost and medically complex Medicaid beneficiaries in affording employer-sponsored health insurance by leveraging additional Medicaid benefits. The ideal candidate will serve as a patient advocate, clearly communicating program requirements, guiding patients through the enrollment process, and ensuring they understand the benefits available to them. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by helping vulnerable populations access vital healthcare resources.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Nursing, Education, Psychology, or a related field, with a master's degree preferred. A minimum of five years of experience working within a hospital or healthcare setting, particularly with patient interactions, is highly desirable. Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in Spanish is a significant advantage, given the diverse patient population. Candidates must demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for healthcare advocacy. Experience in sales or healthcare enrollment processes, especially with Medicaid programs such as NY Medicaid, is preferred. Additionally, candidates should be able to pass hospital credentialing requirements, including vaccines and drug testing, and have an adaptable schedule to meet patient needs. Prior experience with Medicaid enrollment and familiarity with healthcare regulations will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with patients, hospital staff, and key stakeholders, acting as the onsite representative of our organization.
  • Educate patients and their families about the HIPP program, eligibility criteria, and enrollment procedures in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, addressing concerns, answering questions, and guiding patients through the enrollment process to ensure they receive appropriate benefits.
  • Coordinate with hospital personnel to identify eligible patients and facilitate timely enrollment into Medicaid programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, enrollment status, and program compliance in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Stay informed about updates to Medicaid policies and hospital procedures to ensure compliance and optimal service delivery.
  • Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about available healthcare programs and resources.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet organizational goals related to patient enrollment and satisfaction.

Benefits

Joining our organization offers a range of benefits designed to support your professional growth and personal well-being. We provide a hybrid work environment that balances onsite and remote work, offering flexibility to accommodate your schedule. Our comprehensive benefits package includes competitive salary, health insurance, dental and vision coverage, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions. We foster a collaborative and inclusive culture where every team member's contribution is valued, and opportunities for career advancement are readily available. Additional perks include relocation assistance for qualified candidates, ongoing training and development programs, and a family-oriented work environment where colleagues support each other. We are committed to creating a workplace that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all employees feel respected and empowered.
