IT Manager

Chowder is a financial technology company that helps homeowners afford essential household systems through flexible lease-to-own options. Role Summary

We are seeking a forward-thinking, result driven IT Manager with a sense of urgency and delivery to work closely with our Chief Technology Officer and co-lead our technological infrastructure into its next phase of growth. You will work with and manage a high-performing team, oversee cloud-native transformations, and ensure the scalability and durability of our technology stack. This is a highly visible role for a hands-on technology leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Work with a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and proactive support.

Infrastructure Excellence: Oversees the design and maintenance of critical systems, including Zoho ecosystem tools (Creator, Sign, Flow, CRM, etc), serverless integrations with AWS, and connections to third-party services and other financial partner companies. Provides architectural guidance and modernization leadership.

Operational Support: Understands and communicates complex pursuits, technical discovery, and executive-level conversations with internal and external teams, team leaders and executives. Ensures consistent, compelling, and outcome-focused solutions. Establish credibility with other teams around development, modern product engineering, and platform modernization.

Project Management & Development:

• Code and lead major initiatives ensuring delivery on time and with no production issues.
• Provide technical assistance to the IT team.
• Provide technical insights to product owner/stakeholders in a comprehensive and efficient manner.

• Attend technical meetings and provide potential solutions and technical plans.
• Work with finance & operations leadership team to develop and support key small projects.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal and external teams as well as partner companies.
• Work with Product Owner to discuss feature requirements for user interfaces and business logic.
• Work with Product Owner to help managing projects and provide time estimations.

Documentation: Creates comprehensive documentation and flow diagrams for current and new business processes, ensuring internal teams have access to these documents and making these documents available for current and future partners when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

• 7+ years of proven software development and IT management or leadership experience in a product engineering consulting or services organization.
• Deep expertise in modern software engineering, cloud-native platforms, and product development.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Depth:

• Expertise in AWS cloud platform, using tools like: Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, Cloudformation, Cloudfront, IAM Console, S3, Cognito/SSM, RDS, Certificate Manager and DynamoDB.
• Expertise with Zoho tools like: Zoho Creator, Zoho Sign, Zoho Flow, Zoho CRM.
• Hands-on experience with modern scripting and component-based frameworks like jQuery, React/Vite, Angular, Typescript, etc.
• Web development with HTML5 and CSS frameworks like Tailwind and Shadcn UI.
• Project management tools like JIRA and Trello.
• Experience with interface design tools for mockups. Figma is most desirable.

Communication:

Professional/Business level English and an exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical executive stakeholders.
