1. About Our Client:
The organization operates in the secure cloud solutions industry, focusing on environments designed to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). It addresses the challenge of deploying and supporting cloud applications within highly secure, compliant frameworks tailored to government and regulated sectors. The company specializes in private cloud and AWS GovCloud deployments, ensuring adherence to strict government compliance standards such as NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC.
2. About the Opportunity:
The IT Support Engineer will play a critical role in deploying, operating, and supporting cloud-based solutions within secure environments. This customer-facing position ensures that cloud deployments meet security and compliance requirements while providing timely technical support. The role contributes directly to the organization’s ability to maintain secure operations for clients handling sensitive government data.
3. Responsibilities:
• Assist with technical deployment and configuration of solutions in private cloud and secure AWS environments
• Provide Tier 2/3 operational support for cloud infrastructure including Linux VMs, networking, security, and storage
• Monitor system health, perform maintenance, patching, and upgrades in line with customer schedules
• Use Infrastructure as Code and scripting to automate deployment and maintenance tasks
• Act as primary technical contact for customer support tickets related to cloud deployment, access, performance, and security
• Provide compliant guidance on best practices for operating solutions in secure, CUI environments
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and runbooks
• Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Success teams to resolve complex issues
• Ensure all activities comply with security policies and CUI handling requirements
• Manage and troubleshoot user access and identity management systems
• Support customers during compliance audits with relevant security posture data

4. Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years in IT Support, Cloud Operations, or Systems Administration
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, AWS GovCloud, and AWS Landing Zone Accelerator preferred
• Experience deploying and managing enterprise applications on Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu)
• Strong knowledge of network fundamentals in cloud environments (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Load Balancers, Firewalls)
• Familiarity with US government compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171 or CMMC
• Excellent communication skills for customer and technical team interactions
• Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) and adherence to SLAs
• US Citizenship required due to the sensitivity of supported environments
Preferred Qualifications:
• AWS certifications such as SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect – Associate
• Experience supporting virtual appliance or on-premise private cloud deployments
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
• Experience working with US Government, Defense, or Aerospace clients
