Gauntlet is a pioneering leader in the field of quantitative research and optimization within the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. The company specializes in managing market risk, optimizing growth strategies, and ensuring economic safety for various protocols that facilitate spot trading, borrowing, and lending activities across the DeFi landscape. With a focus on building institutional-grade vaults, Gauntlet delivers risk-adjusted on-chain yields at scale, leveraging automated risk models and off-chain intelligence. As of November 2025, Gauntlet manages over $2 billion in vault total value locked (TVL) and optimizes risk and incentives across more than $42 billion in customer TVL. The company's research outputs are highly regarded, frequently cited in academic and industry circles, contributing significantly to the understanding and development of DeFi economics. Operating as a remote-first organization with a home base in New York City, Gauntlet employs around 75 professionals and is backed by Series B funding. The company's mission is to foster adoption and comprehension of the future of financial systems through disciplined, transparent, and reliable vault strategies designed by some of the most vigilant minds in crypto.

  • Develop and sustain diverse, high-quality talent pipelines across multiple technical functions
  • Create an exceptional candidate experience from initial contact through to offer acceptance, ensuring clear communication and engagement
  • Utilize on-chain reputation tools, GitHub, DAO contributions, crypto communities, hackathons, and other channels to identify and attract top talent
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership and hiring managers to understand specific team needs and technical requirements
  • Advise hiring teams on best practices for conducting technical interviews and making data-driven decisions
