Summary:

A MERN Stack Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using the MERN stack, which includes MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on both the front-end and back-end of web applications and has a passion for creating seamless user experiences that address client business needs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Using the MERN stack to build and manage both the front-end and back-end of web applications and APIs.
• Working with product owners, project managers, and other developers to create high-quality software solutions.
• Designing and maintaining databases using MongoDB.
• Writing server-side code with Node.js and Express.js.
• Creating user interfaces with React.js.
• Writing, conducting tests and debugging to ensure the application runs smoothly.
• Participating in project planning, design discussions, and scheduling.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in JavaScript & TypeScript: Strong understanding of JavaScript and its frameworks. Ability to implement code in TypeScript
• Experience with MERN stack: Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.

• Experience with Containerization: Hands on experience with Docker, Docker configuration and Docker images
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.
• Version control systems: Familiarity with Git (GitHub) and other version control systems.
• Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
• Documentation: Experience writing and editing user stories, documenting solutions and creating technical documentation for IT peers
• Testing & Logging: Experience with functional testing and logging

Additional Requirements:

• Experience with RESTful APIs: Knowledge of creating, securing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments and knowledge of the Scrum Methodology specifically
• Experience with Agile Project Management: Experience working with Jira or similar agile project management tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Visual Studio Code,
• Windows Subsystem for Linux,
• DevOps (Azure DevOps, GitHub actions a plus)
