Job Description

Role Summary:

The IT Consultant provides part-time technical support for PCRF’s U.S.-based staff, helping ensure smooth and reliable day-to-day IT operations across a growing remote team. This role supports user account administration, tech procurement, device setup and maintenance, software access, onboarding and offboarding, troubleshooting, and documentation, while helping establish a basic ticketing system to track and manage support needs. The IT Consultant will work closely with the MENA region IT team to maintain consistency across systems, strengthen security and IT best practices, and help identify technology solutions that improve staff efficiency and organizational operations.

Because this role supports a distributed team, occasional on-call assistance outside of standard 9 to 5 business hours may be required to address urgent technical issues

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Account Administration

  • Assist with user account setup, permissions management, and maintenance in systems such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and donor databases.
  • Support staff onboarding and offboarding by managing access to systems and equipment.
  • Assist in setting up the Global team’s shared file structure with controlled access levels.
  • Maintain admin rights for all electronic systems, new & existing.
  • Provide email setup process initiation for volunteers/chapters/staff & reset/recovery as needed.

Tech Support for Staff/Volunteers/Users

  • Provide technical support for staff across multiple locations (in-person and remote), including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • In collaboration with the Development team, update internal IT documentation, procedures, and user guides for each Global department and unit, as needed. Given how closely PCRF systems are tied to fundraising operations, the IT Consultant will need to partner with Development on governance policies and user guides, since IT won’t have full visibility into how the Development team uses and manages data within the CRM.
  • Provide support for virtual meetings and webinars using Google Meets, Zoom, Teams, and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal IT staff, external vendors, or consultants for advanced tech needs or issue escalations.
  • Support Chapter Volunteers with IT-related issues as needed.

Hardware & Software Management

  • Procure, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and office tech.
  • Procure laptops for new staff and set them up with all PCRF systems before providing them to new hires.
  • Implement and monitor basic cybersecurity tools (antivirus, firewalls, MFA, VPN) and ensure IT best practices are followed.
  • Track and maintain inventory of organizational hardware and software licenses.
  • Ensure routine software/hardware updates take place and inform staff when to retire equipment so that PCRF equipment is always in good working order.
  • Integrate Global drives and systems with our regional teams and work in cohesion with the organization’s head of IT.
  • Responsible for equipment management, such as maintaining backup laptops and coordinating the collection of equipment when staff transition.

Research & Other Tasks:

  • As needed, support any research into fundraising platforms or other platforms for assessing risk, data risk, etc.
  • Advise the team on any specific new technology that the team should be using to improve their work products.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, or related field.

·        3-5 years of hands-on IT support experience in a small or medium-sized business environment, nonprofit preferred.

·        Server management, network administration, and cybersecurity implementation experience are required.

·        Phishing testing, training compliance, & general security testing experience.

·        Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft 365 certifications.

·        Experience supporting Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.

·        Being able to suggest new ideas, keep us using the most efficient and latest technology.

·        AI or coding background.

·        Prior experience developing, maintaining, and utilizing a helpdesk/ticketing system.

·        Fluency in English & Arabic (speaking)
