GovCIO is seeking a QA Engineer. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with manual testing in a federal government client environment. This customer-facing role will be instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction. This position will be fully remote in the United States.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with government contracting experience. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience, a strong understanding of Amazon Webservices (AWS), Jira, and X-Ray is a plus.
- Develop, publish, and implement test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed, applications throughout the full lifecycle.
- Develop manual or automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data set.
- Participates in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing.
- Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software or hardware development process has an appropriate level of testing.
- Develops response strategies and processes for high-criticality and security vulnerability related bug notifications.
- Pro-actively investigates and finds potential security holes and attack vectors within both the existing and newly developed code base.
- Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Working in iterative development cycles with cross-functional teams.
- Communicate effectively with federal clients, developers, and program managers

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field or commensurate experience.
- 8+ years of experience
- 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Experience with Jira, X-ray, AWS
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, specifically Kanban.
