Senior Systems Administrator

Careerscape is hiring a Remote Systems Administrator on behalf of our client, a growing technology-driven company headquartered in Atlanta. This fully remote systems administrator role is built for an infrastructure-minded IT professional who can keep enterprise systems running, secure, and scalable. Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000/year · plus bonus opportunity

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure
• Manage and support Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and Group Policy configurations across the organization
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot outages, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures
• Manage virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere and Hyper-V
• Administer cloud environments in AWS, Azure, or GCP — including provisioning, scaling, and cost optimization
• Apply security patches, firmware updates, and system hardening measures in accordance with IT security policies
• Manage firewall rules, VPN configurations, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services
• Create and maintain technical documentation for systems architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with helpdesk, network engineering, and cybersecurity teams to support IT operations and infrastructure projects

• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents as needed

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a systems administrator, network administrator, or infrastructure engineer
• Strong proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Azure AD, and Group Policy
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms — AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience managing VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or other virtualization technologies
• Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls
• Relevant certifications are a plus: CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), AWS SysOps Administrator, or RHCSA
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage priorities across multiple systems
