Job Type: Data Engineer
Duration: 52 weeks Contract with possibility of extension
Location: 100% remote
Rate: $55 to $60/hr on W2
Job Summary
Skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data systems. This role involves accessing and analyzing enterprise-wide data, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and developing robust data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data architecture, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Assemble large and complex datasets to meet business requirements
- Perform data analysis, profiling, and troubleshooting to support business needs
- Develop and optimize data architectures and data flow processes
- Implement data transformation and data integration workflows
- Support batch and near real-time data ingestion processes
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives
- Perform data quality checks and ensure accuracy and consistency
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and data optimization
- Research and integrate new data sources
- Monitor, log, and maintain data systems for performance and reliability
- Ensure timely resolution of data issues and queries

Technical Responsibilities
- Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure (including Microsoft Fabric)
- Build and manage data pipelines using SQL and Python
- Use Terraform (IaC) for cloud provisioning and automation
- Optimize cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery partitioning and clustering)
- Configure data ingestion, integration, and processing services
- Support CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
- Assist in data modeling and database performance tuning
- Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL (complex queries, joins, unions, troubleshooting)
- Hands-on experience with Python for data processing
- Experience with GCP and cloud-based data platforms
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline development
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts
- Experience in data analysis, profiling, and data quality management
- Problem-solving skills with focus on root cause analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Familiarity with data tools such as Rapid SQL, AQT, Information Analyzer, Informatica
- Exposure to real-time data processing and analytics environments

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
