Job Description


Nexkemia is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our team and support our growing operations in the beautiful Eastern Townships. This is an on‑site role with 1 day remote work (We are willing to provide support for relocation costs.) , ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys being closely connected to employees, operations, and leadership.


As an HR Generalist, you will play a key role in delivering day‑to‑day HR support, driving employee experience, and ensuring compliance with provincial and corporate standards. You’ll collaborate with leaders across the business and contribute to a strong, positive workplace culture.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead full‑cycle recruitment: sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent in collaboration with department managers.
  • Manage all new‑hire documentation and ensure compliance with provincial regulations.
  • Conduct and coordinate onboarding at both corporate and business‑unit levels.
  • Administer employee benefits and retirement programs (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans).
  • Support HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave management, performance, employee relations, investigations, and training.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries, escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
  • Process employee changes, new hires, and terminations in the HRIS; support bi‑weekly payroll coordination.
  • Track and document compliance training (safety, anti‑harassment, certifications, etc.).
  • Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws, including:
  • Quebec pay equity program
  • Bill 96 requirements
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, HR procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Support culture‑building initiatives and team‑building activities.
  • Stay current on HR best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging HR technologies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, covering most HR disciplines.
  • Strong recruitment experience.
  • Bilingual in French and English (high English proficiency required for global communication).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HRIS/talent management systems quickly.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time‑management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
