Backed by NBA ambassadors and trusted by thousands of families, we sell across Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and wholesale channels. We're a lean, high-velocity team that moves fast and expects ownership at every level.


The Role

We're looking for a Director of Social Media to lead our influencer marketing, organic social, TikTok Shop strategy, and creator partnerships. This is a player-coach role: you'll set strategy, manage external agencies and creators, negotiate contracts, and get in the weeds on day-to-day execution. You'll report directly to the co-founders and collaborate closely with our media buying, design, email, and operations teams.

This role requires someone who is AI-native. We use AI tools across every part of our workflow, from content ideation and creative production to data analysis and reporting. You should already be using AI daily in your current work, whether that's generating ad concepts, clipping long-form video, drafting copy, building performance reports, or automating repetitive tasks. We're not looking for someone who is "open to learning AI." We need someone who already thinks in AI-first workflows and can push our team to adopt new tools faster than the competition.


What You'll Own

Influencer Marketing & Creator Partnerships

  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with influencers, content creators, and brand ambassadors across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Structure deliverable-based compensation (per-post rates, event fees, campaign management fees) and negotiate contract terms including content usage rights, exclusivity, and payment schedules
  • Manage talent agencies and navigate complex multi-stakeholder negotiations
  • Build and maintain creator briefs with hooks, scripts, and content direction
  • Track influencer performance using CPM for awareness channels and CAC for direct-response channels
  • Manage creator invoicing workflows and payment platforms (Lumanu or similar)

TikTok Shop & Affiliate Program

  • Own the end-to-end TikTok Shop strategy: product listings, affiliate commission structures, GMV optimization, and agency management
  • Manage TikTok Shop agency relationships (onboarding, performance reviews, strategic pivots)
  • Set affiliate commission rates, manage restocking decisions for top affiliates, and negotiate content ownership/usage rights for affiliate content
  • Interface directly with TikTok reps on seller center features, promotions, bundling strategies, and campaign enrollment
  • Monitor shop health metrics (rating, video count, GMV, impressions) and course-correct weekly

Organic Social Media

  • Set content strategy across TruHeight (Teens) and TruHeight Kids Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube accounts
  • Manage and develop a social media coordinator, providing weekly content calendars, brand guidelines, and creative direction
  • Drive follower growth, engagement rate, and view count month over month
  • Lead creative brainstorms, establish post templates and content series (e.g., Testimonial Tuesdays, Ingredient Spotlights, UGC recaps), and maintain brand consistency
  • Evaluate and implement new tools (AI video clipping, AI graphic design, LinkTree) to improve efficiency and output

Events & Activations

  • Coordinate product shipments, signage, and swag for in-person events (TikTok Shop affiliate events, basketball camps, brand activations)
  • Manage creator travel, accommodations, and on-site logistics
  • Negotiate event appearance fees and hosting structures with brand partners

Budget & Reporting

  • Own the influencer/social/podcast budget, tracking spend vs. performance across all channels
  • Provide weekly ad spend context to leadership, coordinating with the media buying team on total marketing spend
  • Present clear options with pros/cons when recommending budget increases, agency changes, or new initiatives
  • Build and maintain KPI trackers for social media, influencer, and podcast performance


What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years in influencer marketing, social media management, or creator partnerships, ideally at a DTC or CPG brand
  • Proven experience managing TikTok Shop (affiliate programs, product listings, agency oversight, GMV optimization)
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of structuring influencer deals, agency contracts, and vendor relationships
  • Comfortable managing a small team (social media coordinator, content creators) while also executing individually
  • Data-driven mindset: you think in CPM, CAC, engagement rate, and ROAS, and you use those metrics to make decisions
  • Experience with influencer payment platforms (Lumanu, Grin, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Slack-heavy, async communication environments
  • Bias toward action. You present options, recommend a path, and move. You don't wait to be told what to do.
