This position in Limited-Term for 24 months and not 12 months as stated above, with a possibility of becoming permanent, in which the incumbent would serve a one-year probationary period.

Job Description And Duties

Effective July 31, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 17, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.

Under the direct supervision of the Statewide Chief Nurse Executive (SCNE), or designee, the Headquarters Chief Nurse Executive (HQ CNE) is responsible for the comprehensive management of the delivery of nursing patient care and the administration of nursing programs for the Whole Person Care Program (WPCP). Provides executive oversight of the WPCP and ensures the delivery of nursing patient care on Complete Care Model (CCM) initiatives such as Addiction Services for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment, Hepatitis C treatment (HCV), and Human Immunodeficiency Virus treatment (HIV). The HQ CNE provides overall leadership, direction and monitoring of nursing services and related clinical operations Statewide within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and ensures that nursing practices comply with evidenced based practice and appropriate professional standards. Indirect responsibility for all clinical functions pertaining to patient care to ensure consistency in the quality of clinical performance, access to care, and continuum of care. This position has the possibility of extensive travel with limited notice.

Candidate may be eligible for relocation reimbursement if they meet the criteria requirements.
