Job Description

Embedded Firmware Engineer | £55,000 - £65,000

We're working with a pioneering wearable technology innovator on this exciting opportunity. They are developing the next generation of IoT devices that bridge the gap between human health and smart connectivity.

This is your chance to work on high-impact products from concept to mass production, utilizing cutting-edge Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and low-power MCU architectures. You'll join a high-caliber R&D team where your code directly affects the performance of devices used by thousands of real-world users every day.

The Role

  • Design and develop production-ready embedded firmware for next-gen IoT wearable products using Embedded C.
  • Architect efficient, reliable firmware for resource-constrained, battery-powered devices focused on ultra-low power consumption.
  • Develop low-level device drivers directly from datasheets and manage communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Implement and optimize wireless protocol stacks including BLE, WiFi, or Cellular (LTE-M/NB-IoT).
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and electronics teams to prototype and validate new sensor-and-connectivity features.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in Embedded C development for resource-constrained microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on expertise with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or ThreadX.
  • Proven experience with low-power wireless technologies like Bluetooth / BLE, WiFi, or Cellular IoT.
  • Strong background in software testing methodologies, including unit testing, regression, and system validation.
  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux development environments and version control tools like Git, Jira, and Bitbucket.

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary (£55k - £65k) with a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Fully remote working flexibility from anywhere in the UK.
  • A culture of genuine innovation where you are encouraged to experiment with new technologies.
  • Clear pathways for career progression and significant investment in professional development.
