Hybrid Infrastructure Platform Team | Remote
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer to join their global Technology and Architecture organization. This role focuses on designing, building, and operating secure and scalable hybrid infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises VMware environments.
The successful candidate will help ensure core infrastructure platforms remain resilient, secure, and optimized while supporting global technology operations in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This is a remote-first position working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Hybrid Infrastructure Design & Implementation
- Design and deploy hybrid cloud infrastructure across Azure and on-premises datacenters
- Implement Azure services including virtual machines, networking, storage, and backup solutions
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using ARM templates or Terraform
VMware Infrastructure Operations
- Architect, deploy, and optimize VMware environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi)
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Azure Management & Automation
- Manage and optimize Azure infrastructure services
- Automate provisioning using PowerShell, Python, ARM templates, or Terraform
- Monitor resource utilization and ensure cost efficiency and compliance
Disaster Recovery & Backup
- Implement and support backup solutions such as Veeam and Azure Backup
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery strategies across hybrid environments
Observability & Monitoring

- Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as SolarWinds
- Monitor infrastructure and network performance metrics including latency and packet loss
Network & Security Engineering
- Configure and manage Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls and security appliances
- Implement security policies, patching, and compliance practices
Infrastructure DevOps & Datacenter Support
- Support virtualization platforms, servers, storage, and backup systems
- Execute infrastructure upgrades and datacenter projects
- Automate operational workflows and improve system reliability
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with development, security, and operations teams
- Provide documentation, technical guidance, and knowledge transfer
Required Qualifications
Professional Experience
- Proven experience delivering hybrid infrastructure projects across cloud and on-prem environments
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- VMware (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi)
- Microsoft Azure infrastructure services
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform or ARM templates)
- Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam preferred)
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
- Experience managing Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls and enterprise security practices
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, or similar
- Experience supporting datacenter infrastructure and virtualization environments
