This is a high-impact technical leadership role designed for an experienced engineering leader ready to step into a company-defining position at the intersection of video technology, AdTech, and AI. You will own the full technical and product direction of a large-scale video platform, working directly with the CEO as the primary engineering authority. The role combines deep hands-on technical involvement with strategic leadership, shaping architecture, product evolution, and team structure across a distributed engineering organization. You will guide the modernization of a complex AWS-based infrastructure, lead a remote engineering team, and define the roadmap for video delivery, monetization, and AI-driven innovation. This is a rare opportunity to operate at CTO level, influencing both product vision and technical execution in a fast-moving, publisher-focused technology environment.
Accountabilities
- Own the overall technical and product architecture of a large-scale video platform, including player, CMS, ad stack, and streaming infrastructure.
- Define and drive the technical roadmap, ensuring scalability, reliability, and continuous modernization of backend systems (Laravel/PHP, Node.js, AWS).
- Oversee cloud infrastructure across AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, MediaConvert, and MediaLive.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed engineering team while establishing strong engineering practices, standards, and processes.
- Co-own the product roadmap with the CEO, translating business and publisher needs into clear technical priorities and execution plans.
- Drive company-wide AI adoption, embedding AI into engineering workflows, product development, and operational processes.
- Lead the evolution of video delivery and monetization systems, including HLS/DASH playback, ad integrations (VAST, VPAID, IMA SDK, Prebid.js), and performance optimization.
- Maintain and enhance AI-driven systems such as contextual video matching using tools like SageMaker, OpenSearch, and Redis.
- Act as a technical representative for the platform in discussions with publishers, partners, and external stakeholders.
- Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, speed, and technical excellence.

- 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience with strong full-stack capabilities across backend (PHP/Laravel), JavaScript/TypeScript, and cloud infrastructure.
- Deep, production-level experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and media processing tools.
- Strong expertise in AdTech ecosystems, including VAST, VPAID, IMA SDK, Prebid.js, and ad server architectures.
- Solid understanding of video streaming technologies such as HLS/DASH, transcoding pipelines, and CDN-based delivery systems.
- Proven experience leading and scaling small, distributed engineering teams in high-growth environments.
- Strong product thinking with the ability to translate business requirements into technical strategy and execution.
- Experience owning or co-owning a product roadmap in a B2B or platform-based technology company.
- Deep familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and daily use of tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Experience in video platform companies or related ecosystems is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure such as OpenSearch, SageMaker, or vector search systems is a plus.
