About The Role

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure to develop new features, enhance existing functionalities, and ensure the stability and scalability of our platform. Your primary focus will be on creating robust plugins, refactoring legacy code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. You will own features from conception to deployment, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to code reviews, all while maintaining our commitment to simplicity and excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that reach a global audience, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented, and innovative mindset.

Qualifications

• Professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards
• Advanced proficiency with PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespaces, traits, interfaces)
• Strong familiarity with JavaScript (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6+)
• Experience using and extending build tools like Gulp and Webpack
• Familiarity with package managers such as Composer and NPM
• Experience working with third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, Drip, Zapier)
• Competent with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub
• Ability to iterate quickly and ship features efficiently
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience in remote or freelance work environments
• Personal computer with reliable internet access

Responsibilities

• Triaging bugs and small enhancements submitted via GitHub
• Scoping, developing, and testing new product features and add-ons
• Refactoring legacy codebases with attention to backward compatibility
• Providing peer reviews and feedback on GitHub pull requests
• Collaborating with team members through chat, audio, and video communication tools
• Maintaining high code quality and ensuring best practices are followed
• Participating in planning and architecture discussions for new features
• Documenting code and technical specifications for future reference
