Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high-availability solutions. This role requires close collaboration with development and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and efficient database operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL database environments.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and health to ensure optimal operation.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Perform database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and data integrity.
• Manage database access controls, user roles, and permissions.
• Develop and maintain scripts for database automation, maintenance, monitoring, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, testing, and production environments.
• Collaborate with application developers and architects on database design, schema optimization, and data modeling.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and capacity planning activities.
• Implement and maintain high-availability and replication solutions where required.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.

• 4–8 years of hands-on experience administering PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong knowledge of database performance monitoring and optimization techniques.
• Experience with PostgreSQL replication, high availability, and failover solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL, query tuning, and database troubleshooting.
• Experience managing database security, access controls, and user permissions.
• Scripting experience using Shell, Bash, Python, or similar automation tools.
• Knowledge of database monitoring and administration tools.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and server administration.
