About The Role
The Remote Data Engineer I at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is a vital role dedicated to supporting the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines and curated datasets. This position ensures that data is accurate, consistent, secure, and readily available for analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. Working under the guidance of senior data engineers, the successful candidate will focus on foundational data engineering activities, including data preparation, validation, and documentation. The role emphasizes building trusted data at scale to support operational reporting, enterprise analytics, and innovative AI-driven solutions. This is a fully remote position, requiring candidates to reside in one of the specified states, and offers an excellent opportunity to grow technical skills in a collaborative and impactful environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence or comparable data engineering roles, preferably within healthcare
- Proficiency with Microsoft BI tools, T SQL, ETL processes, data modeling, and data visualization
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
- Familiarity with Epic applications and Epic database structures
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Relevant certifications such as Epic Radar, Reporting Workbench, Clarity Data, Caboodle, or Microsoft SQL certifications are preferred
- Knowledge of AI development, machine learning platforms, and Microsoft Fabric development is a plus
