Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Senior Python (Django) Developer. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend services and APIs using Python and Django. Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing existing code, integrating with third-party services, and working with relational and NoSQL databases. The Senior Developer will collaborate with front-end engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, participate in code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and ensure best practices in security and performance. The role also involves mentoring junior developers, contributing to architecture decisions, and helping improve development workflows and documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong back-end web development skills, including building RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable server-side architectures with Python and Django.
- Solid software development experience, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, testing practices, and version control (Git).
- Familiarity with front-end development concepts and ability to collaborate effectively with front-end engineers (e.g., React, Vue, or similar frameworks).
- Proficiency in programming fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, and preferably a NoSQL database), including schema design, query optimization, and ORM usage.
- Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a senior or lead developer role is highly desirable.
