Principal AI-Native Systems Architect

Role Description

This is a full-time, fully remote role (role open to worldwide audience.) We care deeply about architectural elegance, system velocity, and high-impact output, not chaining brilliant minds to a desk or drowning you in endless corporate alignment meetings.


As the Principal AI-Native Systems Architect, you will design and evolve the end-to-end, edge-first architecture powering our transactional communications platform. You will be responsible for ensuring global scalability, ultra-low latency, and bulletproof reliability.


Instead of wrapping bloated, legacy software in superficial AI features, you will guide the design of a highly distributed, event-driven, and data-intensive system built natively for the next paradigm of computing.


Key Responsibilities

Architect the Global Edge: Design and evolve system and integration patterns optimized for high-performance edge runtimes, ensuring execution happens as close to the user as possible.


Orchestrate Model-Agnostic AI: Build robust, flexible integration layers and model-serving infrastructure that remain completely agnostic to internal ML/AI modeling, evading the vendor lock-in or metered "middleman" constraints of legacy systems.


Scale the Data Layer: Guide the design of distributed, event-driven, data-intensive systems, leveraging modern serverless database architectures and globally optimized object storage pipelines.


Drive Technical Standards: Collaborate directly with product and engineering teams on technical roadmaps, establish cutting-edge software development practices, and maintain rigorous architectural governance aligned with high-velocity business needs.


Mentor and Build: Provide technical leadership, mentor a lean team of elite engineers, and foster a culture of rapid experimentation and consequence-free iteration.


Qualifications

Expert Systems Architect: A proven track record of designing large-scale, distributed systems, with a deep understanding of modern cloud-native patterns and edge computing.


Hands-on Builder: Exceptional software development skills with proficiency in modern languages and a passion for writing clean, performant code in an agile environment.


Reliability & Observability Pro: Deep background in systems engineering, including performance optimization, low-latency execution, real-time observability, and security-by-design.


Modern Data Stack Mastery: Extensive experience managing complex integration patterns, APIs, high-throughput messaging, and serverless data pipelines across heterogeneous environments.


AI/ML Infrastructure Literacy: Practical experience architecting infrastructure for LLM-based services, event-driven orchestration layers, and high-velocity data/feature pipelines.


High-Growth/SaaS Velocity: Demonstrated ability to translate aggressive business requirements into elegant technical realities within high-growth sales tech, communications platforms, or transactional computing environments.


Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent real-world execution history that proves you don't need the paper). Preference is real-world execution.
