Senior Power BI Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Power BI Developer based in India.

This role is focused on building high-impact business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across enterprise environments. You will take ownership of designing, developing, and optimizing Power BI dashboards and reports that transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will play a key role in translating analytical requirements into scalable data models and visualization solutions. The position requires strong expertise in data modeling, performance tuning, and advanced DAX development, along with a solid understanding of modern data architecture. You will also contribute to improving data quality, governance, and reporting standards across the BI ecosystem. This is a highly collaborative role with exposure to cross-functional teams and international stakeholders, including overlap with US working hours.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Power BI dashboards and reports that support business decision-making.
• Lead the end-to-end BI development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and optimization.
• Build and optimize robust data models using SQL and cloud-based data sources.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines ensuring accurate, reliable, and well-governed data flows.
• Create advanced DAX calculations and implement performance tuning for efficient reporting solutions.
• Define and enforce best practices for data visualization, modeling, and BI development standards.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls to ensure secure reporting environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver actionable business insights.
• Monitor and optimize report performance, including data refresh cycles and query efficiency.
• Mentor junior developers and support knowledge sharing across the BI team.
  
  

Requirements

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in BI development with strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data modeling. You should be comfortable working in enterprise environments, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering scalable analytics solutions.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, including dashboard design and performance optimization.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational and cloud data sources.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, including complex calculations and optimization techniques.
• Experience with Azure data services and enterprise BI ecosystems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps).
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Microsoft PL-300 certification is a plus.
