About The Role
Sentara Health is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure projects that directly impact healthcare delivery and operational efficiency. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Azure cloud environment, implementing automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and supporting container orchestration with Kubernetes. Your efforts will enable rapid deployment, scalability, and reliability of healthcare applications and services, ensuring seamless experiences for both staff and patients. The role requires a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience without a degree. Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and Terraform is essential. Proven hands-on experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes (AKS) is required. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of DevOps practices, automation principles, and cloud networking concepts. Familiarity with Application Release Orchestration tools such as Massdriver, Redhat, GitLab, or Harness is preferred. Exceptional problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and critical thinking capabilities are vital for success in this role. Certifications are not mandatory but are considered an advantage.

- Design, develop, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform with an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach.
- Build, support, and optimize Kubernetes (AKS) environments, including container deployment and management.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub and related tools to streamline deployment workflows.
- Collaborate with development teams to enable self-service infrastructure provisioning and deployment capabilities, fostering agility and efficiency.
