About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our pioneering team building the GenAI Platform that powers essential decision-making tools across healthcare, legal, tax, and compliance industries. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying full-stack applications and AI agents that enable rapid development, validation, and deployment of AI solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the delivery of innovative AI agents, including flagship products like UpToDate Expert AI — a real-time medical research and clinical reasoning agent transforming healthcare delivery worldwide. You will work within a remote-first, globally distributed team of engineers, collaborating closely with product managers, UX designers, and domain experts to deliver customer-centric solutions that are scalable, safe, and reliable. This high-autonomy role offers the opportunity to take concepts from ideation through to production, shaping the future of AI-driven decision-making in critical industries.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack development skills
- Proficiency with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
- Expertise in AI agent development, evaluation, and deployment
- Experience with backend and frontend development frameworks
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions)
- Understanding of secure SDLC, threat modeling, and privacy-by-design principles
- Proven ability to deliver secure, reliable, cloud-native systems to production
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ownership, and cross-functional communication abilities

- Design and implement full-stack applications, AI agents, and platform components that facilitate rapid development, validation, and deployment of GenAI solutions
- Build and maintain developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and observability frameworks to ensure safe and efficient iteration cycles
- Apply secure SDLC practices and privacy-by-design principles, including threat modeling and least privilege access controls
- Collaborate with product teams, UX designers, and domain experts to deliver solutions aligned with customer needs and measurable outcomes
- Implement current large language model (LLM) patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), routing, tool use, and evaluation to enhance system reliability and trustworthiness
- Lead by example through writing high-quality, maintainable code that demonstrates engineering craftsmanship and best practices
- Contribute to the development of flagship AI agents, including UpToDate Expert AI, ensuring high performance, safety, and privacy standards
- Continuously learn and adapt to emerging AI technologies and cloud services to keep the platform at the cutting edge
