Description
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our network engineering and design team. You will get to work with engineers, technicians, and other IT professionals on a variety of environments, projects, and problems. You should be strong in firewall security (Palo Alto and Fortinet), monitoring, and network troubleshooting and design. Preferred candidates will possess expertise with switching and routing (Cisco), routing protocols (particularly BGP), and Wi-Fi.
This position is open to US citizens or Green Card holders. Preferred candidates will live within 50 miles of Irvine, California, and be able to work in the data center and nearby sites on a hybrid basis. Selected candidates outside of this region will have a fully remote position and will work according to a UTC-7 business hours schedule.
Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls (Palo Alto and Fortinet) and other network devices
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Troubleshoot networks on internal and customer environments independently and with other engineers
- Mentor team members on technical issues, train current and future engineers
- Support monitoring with SNMP and other products
- Create and maintain complete technical documentation, drawings, and SOPs
- Communicate with users and colleagues professionally
- Fully track time and work done on internal and customer tickets and projects
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary

Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience designing network architecture for small businesses and enterprises
- 7+ years of network engineering experience, preferably in an MSP or in other multi-tenant environments
- Networking certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, PCNSC, FCX, FCSS, or equivalent knowledge

Compensation and Benefits:
Selected candidates' job grade and starting salary will be determined by the evaluation of factors including relevant skills, knowledge, and geographic location.
Employees who complete the first 90 days of employment will be eligible for Paid Time Off of up to 10 vacation/personal days, 5 sick days, birthdays off, and 8 company holidays each year.
