GCP Cloud Architect / Lead Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Architect / Lead Engineer to define, design, and drive the future state of our Google Cloud Platform services. In this role, you will establish cloud standards, reference architectures, and reusable building blocks while leading the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and automated cloud platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define GCP cloud standards, reference architectures, and guiding principles.
• Design and implement enterprise-grade GCP platform services and reusable architecture building blocks.

• Lead Identity and Access Management (IAM) design, including service accounts, org policies, and authentication patterns.
• Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance across all cloud designs.
• Collaborate with FinOps teams to optimize cloud costs and improve billing visibility.
• Design and support workloads on GKE, Cloud Run, and serverless GCP services.
• Build PoCs/PoVs for new cloud capabilities and innovations.
• Mentor engineers and promote cloud engineering best practices.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong hands-on experience with: GCP architecture and services, Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud automation and CI/CD pipelines, IAM, security, and enterprise cloud governance
• Experience with: Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Run and serverless architectures, PaaS and containerized workloads, Python and Bash scripting
• Strong understanding of cloud billing, cost optimization, and FinOps practices.
• Experience with cloud integration patterns and enterprise-scale deployments.
