We’re seeking a creative, hands-on Social Media Manager / Designer to lead day-to-day social content creation and visual storytelling for our client. This freelance role is ideal for someone who can blend strong design sensibility with social strategy, helping bring the brand to life across digital channels through engaging, on-brand content.
Timing: 8/1
Duration: Through mid/late November; potential for extension and ongoing fractional role
Hrs/wk: 15-30
Location: Fully remote, ET/CT preferred (Chicago would be a bonus)
Pay Range: $35-45/hr.

Key Responsibilities
- Create, design, and publish social media content across key platforms.
- Develop visual assets including static posts, stories, reels support graphics, and other branded creative.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social channels.
- Build and manage content calendars aligned to campaigns, seasonal moments, and business priorities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate goals, messaging, and promotions into compelling content.
- Monitor social media trends, platform best practices, and emerging creative formats.
- Track engagement and content performance, and recommend optimizations based on results.
- Support light copywriting for captions, headlines, and calls to action.
- Ensure all creative is polished, accurate, timely, and audience-appropriate.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and graphic design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating digital design and social-first creative work.
- Proficiency in common design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of major social platforms and what performs well on each.
- Ability to balance strategy, creativity, and execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with analytics, reporting, and performance-based content optimization is a plus.
