Coforge is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join our team in delivering an innovative AI-powered Invoice Audit Platform for a leading enterprise client. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Technologies, and Software Engineering, building scalable and production-ready solutions that transform financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered features using LLMs, document intelligence services, and machine learning pipelines.
• Build and optimize asynchronous processing workflows for large-scale document classification, extraction, and assessment.
• Implement and maintain deterministic rules engines that ensure audit findings are accurate, explainable, and compliant.
• Develop and enhance backend services using Python, FastAPI, and async frameworks to support high-volume invoice processing.
• Work with vector databases and embedding models to enable semantic search and intelligent document retrieval.
• Integrate cloud-based AI services for OCR, document understanding, and natural language processing.
• Design and implement data models for complex financial and contractual data using PostgreSQL and document databases.
• Build observability and monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and performance
• Collaborate with financial SMEs and domain experts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery and maintain high code quality.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, particularly LLMs and document processing.
• Proven experience building production-grade applications with Python and modern frameworks.

• Strong background in data modeling, database design, and working with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and cloud-native application development.
• Demonstrated consulting experience with strong customer focus and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Skills

• AI & Machine Learning.
• Proficiency with OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or similar LLM frameworks.
• Experience with document intelligence, OCR, and information extraction technologies.
• Understanding of embeddings, vector databases (e.g., pgvector), and semantic search.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM application patterns.

Backend Development

• Expert-level Python programming (Python 3.10+).
• Strong experience with FastAPI, async/await patterns, and Uvicorn.
• Proficiency with SQLAlchemy 2.0 (async), Alembic migrations, and database optimization.
• Experience with Pydantic for data validation and Pandas for data manipulation.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, Batch.
• Familiarity with Azure services: Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, and AI services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or similar).
• Understanding of containerization with Docker and local development environments.

Data & Databases

• Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge including performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience with document databases (Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or similar).
• Strong data modeling skills for complex business domains.
• Understanding of async database drivers (AsyncPG, psycopg2).

Software Engineering Practices

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Proficiency with modern Python tooling: uv, Ruff, Pytest.
• Strong understanding of testing strategies including async testing patterns.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and logging best practices.
