Ruby on Rails Developer

Excel Nearshore is hiring a Ruby on Rails Developer with 3+ years of experience to join our client's team. The role offers the chance to work on impactful projects in a dynamic and supportive environment. This is a fully remote and full-time position from Costa Rica, in payroll with benefits.

Requirements

• Experience:
• 3+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.
• Proven expertise in building and maintaining scalable web applications.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API integrations.
• Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and frameworks.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of automated testing and deployment processes.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote team environment.
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
• Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs in the application.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
• Write and maintain clean, scalable code following best practices.
• Integrate data storage solutions and third-party APIs as required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development lifecycle, including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
