Java Software Engineer

I am currently hiring for a mid-career Java developer of Japan’s largest IT companies (no Japanese needed), and as long as you’re proficient in backend development using Java11+, testing, etc you’ll be eligible to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to be able to work on a product with millions of users!

Here are the details below:

Salary: 6,000,000 to 7,500,000 yen per year + benefits (commute, free meals, VISA, on-site gym, etc)

Location: Tokyo (on-site role - hybrid work style with remote allowed)

VISA: Work VISA sponsorship is available

Employment type: Initial 2-2.5 months contract, and 3 months rolling contract after that.

During the contract period, you’ll be employed by Robert Walters. However, there is a high chance of conversion to direct permanent employment with Rakuten around 6 months- 1 year mark.

Relocation Package: None, but we offer non-financial support.

Here's a bit of detail of the JD:

• B.S. or M.S. in computer science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in senior Java development with these tech stack: Java11+, spring boot, microservice architecture, JIRA, Confluence, Git, DesignPatterns, K8s, and good knowledge in backend functionality.
• Experience in creating and implementing new features from scratch
