Job Summary

The Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator! This position provides comprehensive human resources support for the department, managing transactional HR processes and contributing to broader HR programs. The role manages departmental offer letters, HR Service Center (HRSC) transactions, payroll accuracy, and compliance for all department employees, while serving as the first point of contact for routine employee relations matters. The HR Coordinator partners with the HR and Operations Manager, CEAS HR, Research Faculty HR, the HRSC, and the ME Finance team to ensure HR practices align with university and college policies.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

HR Administration and Employee Support:

  • Draft and route offer letters for all department employees; manage addenda and contract changes.
  • Prepare and submit HCM transactions through the HRSC; track approvals and checking HCM for accuracy.
  • Maintain HRIS data accuracy and compliance with university retention requirements.
  • Serves as department liaison with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) to facilitate visa applications and extensions.
  • Coordinate onboarding and training for all employee groups.
  • Support departmental engagement initiatives, including recognition programs.
  • Assist with compliance reporting and HR audits as needed.
  • Serve as first-level contact for routine performance and policy questions; advance complex matters to the HR and Operations Manager.
  • Provide managers with tools and templates for performance coaching and progressive corrective action processes.

Payroll And Funding Administration

  • Oversee monthly and biweekly time collection; review payroll registers and reconcile PETs/funding distributions with ME Finance Team.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies, including late pay and overpayment issues.
  • Provide guidance on FLSA/timekeeping standard processes and deliver MyLeave onboarding and refresher training.

Other Duties

  • Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Stays apprised and current on relevant University and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
  • Participates in professional development activities and serves on unit, college, or campus committees as applicable.

What You Should Know

Standard business hours, M-F. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work modality, consistent with the College of Engineering and Applied Science Hybrid Work Policy .

The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 - $62,400 annually. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of one year experience in human resources, organizational resources, or experience with employment-related processes across full HR life-cycle.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
