Job Description
Medcor is seeking our next Data Analyst to join the Informatics and Business Intelligence Department. We are looking for a skilled professional who can acquire, manage, manipulate, analyze, and report on data. This position is fully remote and will work from a home office.
The compensation for this position is $80,000-$90,000 per year.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Data Integrity: Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct data issues.
Data Systems Function: Analyze and troubleshoot issues with current and planned systems as they relate to data integration and management (e.g., reviewing record merge and unmerge processes for accuracy).
Data Quality Assurance: Monitor the timely and accurate completion of select data elements (e.g., timely data entry) through the creation of reports on key metrics.
Business Support
- Create and deliver training and provide subject matter expertise to support business functions and improve overall understanding of data capture, analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Operations, and IT to achieve business results.
- Source and recommend value-added programs and resources that improve reporting clarity and business impact.
- Support overall department success, including project identification, completion, and results tracking and reporting.
- In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions.
- Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal and external data sources.
- Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies that optimize data quality.
- Interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings.
- Develop graphs, reports, and presentations to communicate project results.
- Perform basic data analyses for projects and reports.
- Create and present dashboards and scorecards.
- Generate routine and ad hoc reports.
- Utilize appropriate media for effective report presentation.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets.
- Partner with departmental resources on process improvements based on data analysis and trending.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Data Analyst and/or database administrator.
- Previous experience in a healthcare-related business environment preferred.
- Previous management experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with data mining techniques and knowledge of when their use is appropriate.
- Programming skills preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL queries, SSRS, and Power BI report writing.
- Technical expertise in data modeling and database design and development.
- Understanding of XML.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, requirements documents, test scenarios, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The Associate frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects. The Associate must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Vision correction is acceptable. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
