Senior Business Analyst - Construction Project Controls

About The Opportunity

Industry: Construction & Engineering — Sector: Commercial, Residential and Infrastructure Construction project delivery and project controls. We support multi-site builds across the U.S., focusing on cost management, schedule adherence, and operational excellence.

Primary Title: Business Analyst

Role & Responsibilities

• Partner with project managers, operations leads, and finance to gather, document, and prioritize business and system requirements for construction projects and internal processes.
• Analyze project financials, forecasts, and change orders to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities to reduce budget variance.
• Design and maintain dashboards and reports (Power BI/Tableau) tracking KPIs such as budget vs. actual, schedule variance, earned value, and resource utilization.
• Create and execute SQL queries and data models to turn field and ERP data into actionable insights for decision-making.
• Map and optimize business processes; define user stories and acceptance criteria for system enhancements (Procore, ERP integrations) and support UAT cycles.
• Support change management and training efforts—produce user guides, run training sessions, and validate fixes post-deployment to ensure adoption and data integrity.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Proven experience with Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis and financial modelling.
• Hands-on SQL experience for querying and transforming operations and project data.
• Power BI dashboard design and data-visualization experience.
• Requirements elicitation and user-story development for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Process mapping and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline project controls.
• Familiarity with construction project management platforms (Procore or similar).
