Job Title: HR Systems Specialist – Workday HCM

Job Location: 100% Remote, Canada

Job Type: T4 Contract

Experience Level: 3+ years 

Rate: CAD $20/hr-$22/hr


Role Summary

We are hiring for an HR Systems Specialist – Workday HCM where the selected candidate will support and enhance Workday HCM operations for a large, distributed workforce. This role focuses on Workday configuration, system support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and efficient HR systems delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize Workday HCM to support global HR operations
  • Configure and support Workday modules including HCM, Compensation, and Security
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in coordination with internal teams and IT
  • Support security role administration across HR systems on a proactive and request-driven basis
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance, Total Rewards, IT, and People Experience teams on configuration updates and break-fix needs
  • Research, analyze, and resolve complex Workday system issues and process gaps
  • Perform and support complex data uploads using Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs)
  • Assist with annual and off-cycle HR events such as performance reviews, merit increases, bonuses, and job structure updates
  • Monitor Workday system performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency
  • Support Workday upgrades, implementations, testing, and documentation efforts
  • Participate in user acceptance testing and provide end-user support on Workday-related issues
  • Stay current with Workday features and industry trends through community forums, training, and webinars

 

Must-Have Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on HRIS experience with strong focus on Workday
  • Strong Workday configuration experience in Workday HCM
  • Proven experience supporting Workday Compensation
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Security configuration and role administration
  • Experience working across two or more Workday functional areas such as HCM, Security, Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, or Absence
  • Strong skills in data gathering, cleaning, and transformation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality support

 

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
