About The Role

The Content Strategist at Directive Consulting plays a vital client-facing role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive content and SEO strategies. The strategist primarily handles enterprise clients, requiring a deep understanding of their service lines and how these impact broader business objectives. Internally titled as Account Strategist, Content & SEO, this role demands a strategic thinker with a focus on delivering measurable results aligned with the company's North Star Metrics (NSMs). The ideal candidate will be proactive in setting goals, managing projects, and building lasting client relationships, all while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure campaign success.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in implementing SEO principles and content strategies, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable in client-facing roles and stakeholder management
  • Proficiency with industry tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Analytics
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and time management skills
  • Agency experience is required
  • Experience in B2B technology and SaaS industries
  • Enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content creation
  • Knowledge of AI and automation trends in marketing operations

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customized content and SEO strategies aligned with client goals and best practices
  • Use project phases as foundational points for strategy creation, optimization, and revision based on ongoing performance data
  • Collaborate with Associate Directors to set and approve measurable goals using data sources such as Google Analytics, CRM, SEMrush, and Ahrefs
  • Ensure the successful execution of strategies by delegating tasks and managing timelines through tools like Asana
  • Partner with content writers, designers, and project managers to produce high-quality content campaigns on schedule
  • Act as the primary interface between clients and internal teams, building strong relationships and understanding client needs beyond deliverables
  • Proactively communicate project timelines, progress, and strategic adjustments to clients and internal leadership via channels like Slack and email
  • Provide regular reporting on strategy performance through bi-weekly meetings, monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual reviews
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for client growth through upselling, cross-selling, and referrals
  • Stay informed on industry trends, including AI and automation, to enhance campaign effectiveness and operational efficiency
